Custom Home Building & Remodeling Going Strong in Salt Lake City This May

It’s safe to say that the last few months have been full of uncertainty due to the coronavirus pandemic. While the resulting stay at home order temporarily closed many businesses, home builders and remodelers were allowed to continue working as long as they took measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Ironwood Custom Builders adjusted business operations accordingly and began offering virtual consultations.

Now that the stay at home order has been lifted and businesses have begun reopening, we wanted to give an update on custom home building and remodeling in Salt Lake City. Though these are certainly unprecedented times, we’re happy to report that new home construction and remodeling has remained strong in May.

Updates to Operations at Ironwood Custom Builders

Site visits and consultations have begun taking place as normal at Ironwood Custom Builders. We are able to meet our clients one-on-one to help them through the process of building a custom home or remodeling. Many are choosing to meet in person by appointment at our office or their home. When meeting in person, our team follows social distancing guidelines and disinfects the office once the meeting is over.

Because we want to make our clients feel as comfortable as possible, we are still offering virtual meetings as needed. To schedule an appointment, please call (801) 416-3131 and dial extension 101 or use the links below to leave your information and we will get back to you.

Construction Timelines Operating Normally

Schedules and timelines for homes currently under construction and projects beginning soon have not been impacted. Local municipalities have begun operating normally, so we are able to obtain permits and set up inspections as necessary. With that in mind, completion times for these projects are expected to happen at a normal pace.

Material Prices and Interest Rates Remain Low

During this time, mortgage interest rates have remained low. In addition to low interest rates, material prices have remained steady and relatively low. This is good news for both those building a custom home or completing a remodel. While it’s unknown how long interest rates will remain low, rates around the 3.5% range make financing a new home much more affordable. Low material prices contribute to a more affordable build and remodel, as well, making it easy for homeowners to save significantly.
