FULL SERVICE COMPANY

Ironwood Custom Builders is a full-service residential construction company with a legacy of nearly 60 years of combined experience. We specialize in creating custom homes and high-quality renovations, delivering exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. From initial planning to the final touches, we manage every aspect of the building process, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience for our clients.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

What actually sets Ironwood apart is how we work before construction ever begins. We don’t treat an early, incomplete estimate as a construction price. Instead, we move through defined decision points—an initial consultation, a Scope & Range check that tests whether your project and investment are reasonably aligned, then full project development—so that plans, selections, assumptions, and trade pricing are worked out before we prepare a fixed-price construction proposal. The objective is simple: identify conflicts while they are still easy and inexpensive to solve, and give you a responsible basis for every decision. Our craftsmanship, awards, and community involvement (including Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build Projects) matter—but the process is the real difference.

Kelly Anderson

Kelly Anderson is the General Manager and Co-founder of Ironwood Custom Builders. His passion for craftsmanship began early—he started building cabinets and furniture at just 14 years old. After earning a degree in Building Construction, Kelly began his professional career as a framing contractor. 2 years later he obtained his general contractors license and began building and remodeling homes.

Since then, Kelly has become a recognized leader in the industry. He is a multi-award-winning Parade of Homes builder, having received honors such as Best Paint, Best Tile, Best Landscape, Best Finish Carpentry, Best Pool, Outstanding Master Suite, Outstanding Curb Appeal, and the coveted Best of Show.

Kelly has earned numerous industry awards and distinctions, including being featured on the cover of Professional Remodeler magazine after being named one of the nation’s “Top Forty Under 40” best contractors. He has also received the Builder of the Year Award, the Spence Greer Volunteer of the Year Award, and the President’s Award—recognitions that reflect his dedication and long-standing commitment to the home building industry.

Kelly has also played a vital role in advancing the building industry in Utah. He served on the Salt Lake Home Builders Association (SLHBA) Board of Directors from 2002–2008, joined its Executive Committee from 2008–2010, and led as President from 2010–2011. Today, he continues his service as a lifetime ex-officio member of the SLHBA Board of Directors. In 2022, Kelly was elected to the Board of Directors for the Utah State Home Builders Association and is currently serving as its 2026 President.

Kelly is a committed advocate for community service and has supported both Make-A-Wish and Habitat for Humanity. From 2005 to 2009, he secured 100% of the labor and material donations for four homes and then built each of those four homes in under 96 hours each.

PROCESS
Our process is built around defined decision points rather than one large commitment made up front. It begins with an Initial Consultation, moves to a Scope & Range assessment that confirms whether your project and anticipated investment are reasonably aligned, then into Project Development where plans, selections, and trade pricing are refined, and finally to a Fixed-Price Construction Proposal for the defined scope. At every stage you receive better information and another opportunity to continue, recalibrate, or stop.
GUARANTEES
At Ironwood Custom Builders, we stand by the quality of our work. Our projects are backed by warranties covering materials and craftsmanship. We establish realistic schedules, communicate changes promptly, and use a fixed-price contract for the defined construction scope. Owner-requested changes, concealed conditions, permitting, and other legitimate factors can affect time and cost, so our focus is on clear information and responsible decisions at every stage—not an absolute promise of a completion date.
