The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler. Summer has come to an end but there are still plenty of great events in Salt Lake City this September for all to enjoy. From Oktoberfest at Snowbird Festa Italiana, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this September in Salt Lake City.

Oktoberfest at Snowbird

It’s about more than just bending elbows. Oktoberfest at Snowbird is a family-friendly affair with activities, food, and, of course, brews for days — weeks actually. The highly-anticipated festival begins each August and lasts through October, taking place every Saturday, Sunday, and Labor Day. It’s probably the greatest beer festival Utah has to offer, so don’t miss out!

“Oktoberfest at Snowbird is one of Utah’s greatest cultural events,” says Bob Bonar, President of Snowbird. It’s been a Utah tradition since 1973. What’s more, Snowbird’s annual festival was voted one of America’s 10 Best Oktoberfests by Men’s Journal Magazine.

Snowbird’s Oktoberfest attracts more than 60,000 visitors each year making one of the largest festivals in Utah. Every Saturday and Sunday, you can party and play with thousands of attendees, drinking everything from American pale ale to stout made with a wide variety of hops and brew methods. Admission to Oktoberfest is free and the event runs from Noon – 6:30 pm.

No Name Chili Fest

This Chili Fest is a Food Drive for the Utah Food Bank, so bring some non-perishable goods to help us a fill a Gondola with food for them!   The Snowbasin Resort Culinary team will make batches of their own personal chilis to have out for the guests to sample, taste, and then vote on.  The winning chili will be served all year long at John Paul Lodge for the 18/19 season.  You get to be a part of the process of selecting next season’s chili at John Paul Lodge.  So please, come up and join us in this very important culinary process that we want to share with you.  To get your chili tasting kit, it will cost you $15 per person for an adult and $8 for a child 6-11 with $2 of every purchase going directly to the Utah Food Bank.  If you bring non-perishable food items to help fill our gondola that will be set-up in the middle of the plaza, your tasting kit will be automatically reduced to $13 for adults; with $2 of each purchase still going to the Utah Food Bank.  All donated food items will fill our Gondola and then be taken to the Utah food bank as a gift from Snowbasin Resort and Snowbasin Resort guests.

Utah State Fair

Salt Lake County Animal Services will be there with microchip and licensing services for your dogs as well! Donations will be accepted at the event for the Salt Lake County Animal Services Injured Animal Fund. Monetary donations to this fund go directly to help with the costs of caring for homeless injured animals in our shelter.

Festa Italiana

Proceeds from the festival will support local and national non-profit charitable organizations supported by the Italian-American Civic League of Utah.

Salt Lake is home to many incredible street festivals. After visiting Italian festivals in some of the great cities across the country, our organization wanted to bring Italian culture, food and entertainment to the mix. It is our goal to give a little taste of what we know as Italian-Americans to anyone who attends the festival. We hope to see you there!
